One Month

I can hardly believe an entire month has gone by! Afton has already grown and changed in so many ways!

She is growing A LOT. At one month she weighed about 8 lbs, and measured 21 1/2 inches long. Just two weeks ago she measured in around 7 lbs!

With lots of growing comes LOTS of eating. I think the biggest surprise for me becoming a mother was how often and long a baby eats. I wish someone had warned me that I would quite literally do nothing but feed my baby all day long. So expecting moms out there be warned!

Just this week Afton started giving me occasional big ol' smiles, and not her sleepy "I am dreaming about eating" smiles, but an "I see mommy" smile.

She is much more alert and loves to look all around. She watches Brad and I as we move around and will occasionally watch a toy.

Afton is very strong and can lift her head like a champ. Her doctor told me to watch out because she thinks Afton may be an early roller. Already an overachiever :)

One great improvement is that she doesn't squawk so much when she gets her diaper changed. I think Brad appreciates this in particular.

She really seems to respond well to music. I notice if I sing to her to sleep, she goes down easier. Sometimes I even catch Brad singing to her. :)

And of course, she is growing more and more adorable every day.
