General Conference!

I watched this talk today from President Monson and got very excited for General Conference

I believe this was from the General Relief Society meeting last October. I just think it is an awesome message on charity and just accepting people as they are. So watch the full video, because it is that good.

Note: For the few of you who read this blog and aren't sure what General Conference is go HERE. It will tell you all about it.

Blurrrr

Some of you may be wondering "what happened to the Morgan's?" Most of you probably aren't. We are still alive and well in Texas despite the blur of the last few weeks. Nothing too exciting has happened...

Except for ...

Allison (Brad's sister) is engaged! And we are very excited for her, and for the excuse to go to Oregon this summer.

SPRING BREAK!!! Was ridiculously uneventful, but very relaxing.

Brad built his own HTPC ... or media center. Just imagine being able to have all of your pics/songs/movies/etc in one place that can be pulled up on your tv screen. It's pretty fun.

I got sick and still somehow managed to teach all my classes this week... oh wait... that's not exciting at all. sorry.

Oh yeah... and we are in the process of buying a HOUSE....which has given us a roller coaster ride over the last few weeks and kept us VERY busy. If all continues to go well we will be relocating end of April :) YAHOO!

Brad's Dream Comes True

This weekend Brad's lifelong dream came true...
Not only did he get a picture with the Clutch the Bear statue,
but he also got to see the Houston Rockets play on their home court in the Toyota Center.
And to top it off my brother and his wife, Taylor and Stasi, joined us for this momentous occasion.

And because this was such a momentous occasion I had to document with lots of pictures:
We actually got a good picture together! Brad is not making a goofy face and I am not blinking. You don't know how rare that is.
Brad LOVED Hakeem the Dream growing up, in fact he wanted to be him.
He can hardly contain his excitement.
Brad sees how well he can measure up to Yao Ming.
I think my head would barely reach Yao Ming's sternum.
That's 2 world championships in case you were wondering

See those seats up there? That's where we sat for most of the game. Then in the third quarter we were given tickets to move to the lower level.... where you can actually see the players faces!
Needless to say, Brad was thrilled.

Don'tcha Know Bobby!

There is another dimension beyond that which is perceived by man.
It is a dimension as endless as space and as unlimited as infinity.
It is the middle ground between reality and fantasy,
between fact and fiction.
It lies between the simplicity of a child's imagination
and the summit of man's knowledge.
Enter now into this area which we call . . . "BOBZ WORLD
That's right. Bobz World. On our way to lovely South Padre Island Brad and I saw this on the side of the road:
And naturally, we were intrigued so on our way home to SA we stopped to check it out and we were not disappointed.

Brad made a friend with Little Foot
 More dinosaurs!
Surfing lava tiki man?
Enter if you dare!

From what we could tell it's a tour through a bunch of sculptures and such....and we are pretty sure they are also building a mini golf course. So if you are ever headed down to hwy 100 stop on by and have some laughs - you know we will :)

Weekend Getaway

My lack of writing about Valentines Day is not due to the lack of celebration, merely lack of time to blog. Our six-month mark for our anniversary falls two days after Valentines, so we have made it our tradition to avoid the crowds and go out on a nice date on Feb 16th instead.

This year Brad conveniently had to go to McAllen, TX for work on Friday, so I tagged along for a fun weekend getaway. Friday evening, we decided we wanted to go out for steak, so we thought we would try out Texas Roadhouse. Little did we know that all the senior citizens of Texas also wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. At 5 PM there was huge line OUT THE DOOR of senior citizens waiting to go eat! (I wish I had taken a picture.) So we went to Outback instead. Where there were also senior citizens. I did not know McAllen has more retirement communities than Vegas has casinos. Go figure.

The next day we drove down to South Padre Island to enjoy the beach. And when we got there it looked like this
So instead of spending 3 hours on the beach and driving 6 hours home, we got a nice room at the Sheraton with an ocean view. Spontaneous? yes. A little pricey? maybe. The most romantic, lovely, fun, and relaxing weekend ever? You betcha!
Sweet Bridge to get on the island
Doesn't get too much better than this.
My sand castle! Also... I never take good pics on the beach.

Having fun in the sun
And just in case the weekend wasn't awesome enough already, on our way home we stumbled upon this gem:

That's right. Bobz world. It is so special that it deserves it's own post.
