'Tis the Season to be Jolly

Christmas is a time of JOY. It's a time to visit with friends and family. It's a time to look outward and serve those around you. It's a time of gift giving, and a time to reflect on the greatest gift of all - Jesus Christ - the Savior and Redeemer of the World.

Don't let yourself catch the Bah-humbugs. Keep Christ and Christmas and have a Very Merry Christmas!

My Christmas Classics

Do you have your staple Christmas movies that you must watch every Christmas? Or Christmas music that just puts you right in the Christmas spirit? Well Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without my movies and music.
Movies first:
Love them. I grew up watching these claymation classics and The Grinch. It must be the cartoon Grinch. The Jim Carrey one distracts from what the story is all about: finding the true meaning of Christmas. Then the Elf is just hilarious and perfect - an instant Christmas Classic.

And my all time favorit Christmas Movie Ever:
That's right. Charlie Brown Christmas. I pretty much have this movie memorized. Not only is it hilarious, but it does a great job of pointing out that we need to get away from the big "Commercial Christmas Racket" and find the real reason for the season.

Now for Music:
There is a ton of good Christmas music out there. But my absolute must-haves are:

John Denver and The Muppets: A Christmas Together
This CD is just fun. If you can find the version that has "Little Saint Nick" then get that one.
Kind of a Given. But this sound track is just jazzy and fun. I also love the piano music

Her music is everything that Christmas music should be. Seriously. If you haven't heard her stuff, you are truly missing out. She has quite a few CD's and I am realizing that she has some new stuff that I have yet to get :)

Anywho, there you have it. My Christmas Classics. What are yours?

Christmasery at the Morgan's

Can I just start off by saying that I love Christmas - It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. We kicked off our Christmasery by going to the temple square lights over our Thanksgiving visit to Utah.

Riding on the tracks to temple square

This was Ashton's favorite part of the night :)

Then we got back to Texas and started decorating:
 This makes me happy.
This is my Christmas Craft for the year, not quite finished, but you get the idea.

Just Because

So before I blog about Thanksgiving I would like to share about when my parents and Jakie-Poo came to visit us.... just because.

We went to the typical places - Alamo, Riverwalk, El Mercado. We also discovered a delicious restaurant called Mi Tierra. If you ever come visit us in San Antonio we will take you there.... you're treat :)

We also went to a SPURS game. VERY fun.
Jake could hardly contain his excitement.
We also went to Sea World to see this big guy:

And Jake rode this beast of a roller coaster.... because in his words, "[He's] a man"
And then the beast took Jake's phone right out of his pocket
No worries... he got it back.

All in all, we had a great time with my family here in San Antonio and I think they will be back for more.
