Knit Knacks

I have had more time on my hands lately... which means more time for knitting! I just thought I would put up some pictures of recent knits for the fam/friends that have been asking for pics.

I finished these beauties back in February, but I am very proud of them so I had to post another picture!

This stitch is called the Daisy Stitch - VERY cute!

Beary is sporting this manly neckwarmer I made for Elder Zach Morris per his request

It even has a hidden button!

Here is a closer look at the stitching, this is the first cabled project I have done and I did the cabling without a cable/dpn needle. It took me a while to make, but definitely expanded my knitting capabilities.

This cute little hat was made for a friend's cute baby girl.

And this adorable hat was made for a beautiful baby girl of another friend of mine. I wish I made it bigger... I would totally wear this!

And that is all the knitted items I have created lately. I want to knit Christmas stockings for  Brad and I, but the more I look into them, the more I realize I won't be done by Christmas. Why? Because I am choosing to make them more complicated than they need to be.... but I will be learning more! I will finish them by NEXT Christmas for sure!

Even The Pizza Is Bigger in Texas

Five co-workers and I decided to tackle a pizza at Big Lou's on Thursday for lunch this week. We were almost able to pull off the victory, but as lunch's fourth quarter began, our stamina rapidly declined.

Our excuses:
  1. Really there were only 5 of us - not 6 - eating the pizza. One of my co-workers only ate a nibble as she wants to be sure to "fit into her wedding dress" in about 2 months. She had a salad.
  2. Ok, actually there were only 4 1/2 of us - not 5 - because one of my co-workers recently learned that his cholesterol is too high, so he ordered a salad and still helped with the pizza.
  3. Look at the size of this thing! (It's 42" in diameter or 5 1/2 sq. feet of pizza if I did my math right- pi times squared radius, right?)

We're convinced we'll have it next time with 6 of us. But we don't plan to try again for another year because pizza probably won't sound good until then.... if it ever sounds good again...

The Monster Mash

Behold the massiveness of the SUPER MONSTER BURRITO:
This was one giant burrito until it was cut in half.

Not convinced of it's massiveness yet?
Notice how my hands can hardly fit around the whole thing, my mouth certainly couldn't :) Brad was able to finish his half... and he was thoroughly stuffed, which is saying something.

We discovered this at Freebirds, which is comparable to Chipotle, but has more menu options.  The burrito was delicious, and cheaper than us getting two separate smaller burritos AND we got dinner and a lunch out of it! If you choose to visit us in San Antonio then we will be more than glad to take you out to Freebirds.

Hockey Sticks and Treats and Tricks

Halloween Weekend

Friday = Hockey Game!!
I didn't really think I would enjoy it... but I did.
Brad and I even egged these two on... they both got kicked out of the game, but they gave us a true hockey experience.
While I did enjoy the game, I decided Hockey has got to be the most barbaric sport. ever. I mean, where else do the fans cheer just as loudly for a fight as they do for someone scoring?

Saturday = Pumpkin Carving, Trunk or Treat, and Wait Till Dark
Brad and I carved our first pumpkin as a couple... awww.
isn't it cute?

Then we got all dressed up into our costumes and went on down to the trunk or treat
Do you know what we are? huh? Here is a closer look at Brad's costume:

Some other great costumes:
Pinata Man won first place, and rightfully so.

Then we watched "Wait Until Dark" starring the beautiful and talented Audrey Hepburn
If you haven't seen it, than you should. It's a little scary, but not too scary, and that's coming from someone who hates scary movies. In fact, it's a little more suspenseful than scary, but see it. I highly recommend it.
