OTD: Obsessive Twilight Disorder

So the other day I was driving around, running some errands, and I end up behind this car at a stop light:

I couldn't keep myself from laughing. I can understand one bumper sticker, maybe two - but FIVE? Five Twilight bumper stickers? If that's not a case of OTD I don't know what is.

Don't get me wrong, I read all the books and saw the movies, and enjoyed them. And if you LOVE the Twilight Series I do not think any less of you.Where your team Jacob/team Edward shirts with pride. But FIVE TWILIGHT BUMPER STICKERS?!

A Rose is a Rose

I asked the Hubster to pick up a couple of paper plates at the store on the way home from work....
and he walked in with these beauties.
I think I will ask him to pick up paper plates more often :)

Chop Chop!

I guess my dramatic hair change deserves a little post-a-roo.

To answer some of my FAQ'S:
  • No, I do not miss my long hair... it was too long and driving me crazy. I love the shortness.
  • Yes, Brad knew I was cutting my hair and he likes the new style, but does miss my long locks at times.
  • I cut off 12 inches of my hair - my head feels so much lighter now!
  • Yes, I did donate my hair to locks of love. Hopefully some kid will get a lovely wig to help make life a little better for them.
 And that's the new do.

Speaking of hair... did you know that people used to cut off a lock of a deceased persons hair and make mementos from it? Kind of creepy to me....but whatever floats your boat.

Monsters

Everything is bigger in Texas... I mean just check out these grasshoppers! The first one was on window (outside, not inside). The second one we saw at a gas station on our way down here.

FAIL

Thursday I was bored... so instead of watching more episodes of Monk on Netflix I decided to turn off the TV and bake something. I decided on Halloween cupcakes.

I had envisioned something like this:
 Instead I got this:

It's ok to laugh. I did. several times. Basically Plan A wasn't working... so I resorted to plan B which was "just get the darn things frosted already!" The one thing I am proud of is that the chocolate cupcake mix was made FROM SCRATCH. And they taste good too. The frosting... is too buttery for my taste, but still edible.

Also... Brad informed me that he prefers cupcakes over cookies... Lovely. Practice makes perfect right?

If you want to see some ladies who can really decorate cupcakes then check out the Whipperchicks. They do all sorts of cute, delicious desserts!

Procrastination or Intimidation

I am not sure which one has played a larger factor keeping me from blogging about my summer. Summer was awesome. One of the best we have ever had. Why? well let me give you the shortened list:

Lots of camping and fishing. This included a Henderson Family Trip which is always fun. AND we got to go camp in Oregon with Brad's family. AND I got a lovely pink fishing pole, which caught more fish than any of Brad's fishing poles did this summer. Oh AND we fished on a lake when there was an aggressive black bear on the prowl and we didn't die.

Carrie Underwood/Stadium of Fire (A.K.A. my birthday present) I LOVED it. She is very talented and puts on a great concert. I want to see her again... and have seats that don't require me to zoom in all the way to get a picture this close :)

Cancun con mi familia. A week of lounging on the beach next to my hubby reading Pride and Prejudice and drinking delicious smoothies while listening to the roar of the ocean... need I say more? (how is that for a run on sentence?) I also got a wicked sunburn.

Student Teaching and officially graduating. I LOVED student teaching. so so much. Especially the first graders. They are just too stinkin cute. I came home everyday feeling so happy and so lucky to be working with those kids. I decided my ideal age would be 2nd grade. Maybe 3rd.

And to top it off... we moved to San An Tonio. Crazy. I know.

So that was a brief version of our summer. Minus a few details. Fun right? Now that I have gotten all that out I think I will be posting a lot more on here. YAY! (at least I hope ya'll are happy about that)
