As I have mentioned before, Ruby came about a week after I thought she would come. Afton was early, so I figured Ruby would come around her due date for sure. In fact, at my 40 week check-up (a Tuesday) my midwife said she would be surprised if Ruby didn't arrive in the next day or two... surprise!
Well Halloween came and went, Brad had even stayed home from work, and we were running out of ways to keep my mom busy. Sunday I thought my water broke, so we went into the hospital, but unfortunately no breakage. At this point I was emotionally done waiting for Ruby to come, so we scheduled induction for Tuesday morning.
As luck would have it, Tuesday morning (November 5th) around 4:00 AM I started having contractions! So no induction! Unfortunately, after a few hours they completely stopped. We went into the hospital at 9:00 AM and I was dilated to a 6, but still no more contractions. (I guess Ruby was getting cold feet.) After talking with my midwives, we decided to do a little petosin just to get my contractions regular. They hardly had to give me any (yay!).
Fast forward to 4:10ish, my midwife came in and I was ready to go! So she broke my water and a few pushes later Ruby was born at 4:21 PM!
And now for what you really want to see.... pictures!
Ruby getting her vitals taken, she was not happy about it!
We are pretty sure she is much louder than Afton was as a newborn.
Holding my sweet little Ruby. I got to hold her right away for a quite while, but it was nice to hold her after she got a little cleaned up :)
Grandma meets Ruby!
She came after Afton's bedtime thanks to a dear friend who watched Afton for us.
Wearing the little turban beanie I made her-
It was a little too tall. Her head isn't really that big :)
Eyes open!
Getting some Daddy snuggles in
This is after her first bath. All cleaned up and dressed in something cute :)
