Zach and Alisha's Wedding

At the end of August we took our final trip of the year, for a very special occassion. My dear little brother Zach found a beautiful girl and decided he better put a ring on her finger before it was too late!

Because we live in Texas, Brad and I didn't get to officially meet Alisha until after they were already married. Fortunately for both of them, we approve ;)

Alisha is from the small town of Snowflake, AZ. So it was a 2 1/2 hour plane flight and 3 hour drive to get there. Not the most convenient place to travel to, BUT it was well worth the travel.

The weather was beautiful while we were there. Pretty blue skies the entire drive!

Cousins all dolled up for the wedding festivities! I think its funny how we could not get the 3 of them to hold still and look at the camera :)

Quick family shot at the temple.

Cousins chillin on the porch swing.

Afton and Daddy at the reception, can you tell she is tired? She did not get much sleep on this trip, but was a happy girl for the most part.

Somehow, the only pictures of the bride and groom I took were of the cake cutting. OOPS!
For a little sneak peak of their gorgeous wedding and reception, go here.

This is Afton, post reception. She didn't even stir while I put her in her PJ's.

AND my favorite picture of the trip. Afton adores her Uncle Jake. He left for his mission a few days after the wedding. We miss him, but know he is doing awesome things whilst giving the next two years to serving others and God.

Morgan Family Reunion- Stanley Lake

Welcome to Stanley Lake! The beautiful campground we stayed at for a week with Brad's family.
Unfortunately, this was the only clear day we had there due to forest fires in the area.
Most of the time we had a lovely ashy haze tinting our view.

Before we made it to the campgrounds, we made a stop for a cousin's wedding and got to spend some time with Afton's Great-Grandma Tanner.

Four Generations!

Back to the camping! We had a fun week of camping, despite the extreme weather (90's in the day 30's at night). Our little family got to explore the joys of co-sleeping due to the cold nights. I am suprised we slept as well as we did. :) But while things were slightly uncomfortable, we had a very fun time hanging out with family.

While we were camping Afton played in the dirt. A lot.
Which is what I expected :)

There was also lots of fishing done by all.
Richard fished for the first time in his life on this trip and caught a fish on his first cast!
(I know Brad and I aren't pictured, but we did catch fish!)

One of Afton's favorite activites was going down by the lake to throw in rocks and sticks and look for "foffs" AKA frogs. She even touched the frogs!

Something unique that Brad's family likes to do is go gold panning. We didn't get to do too much of that this trip, but it was fun to go out once.

It wouldn't be a proper trip with Afton if it didn't involve some sort of injury. About halfway through the week Afton decided to run full force out of Nana and Papa's trailer (about 2 feet off the ground), fortunately missed the metal step and scraped her face up on their green turf mat. We of course, were concerned about another head trauma, especially since she fell asleep within 5 minutes. We quickly gave her a priesthood blessing and took her to the little clinic in the town of Stanley. Lucky for us, all she got out of the experience was a nice rug burn on her cheek that was gone by the next week! (but that didn't stop me from bawling my eyes out with worry).

Afton's cute cousin Blake! He really was a happy camper.

Blake chillin with his Uncle Richard.

Brad photo-bombing Allison's attempt to capture the campgrounds :)

Daddy and Afton reading books in the hammock.

Kim definitely wins the favorite Aunt award. Afton loved playing and reading books with her!

Afton and "Pa-Pa"

Our afternoon spent at Red Fish Lake, they have a semi beach there.

And you can't have a Morgan gathering without eating some ice cream!

Afton loved sitting on Nana's shoulders.

Did I mention Allison and I were about 7 months pregnant on this trip? Because we were.
Were we uncomfortable? yes. Did we complain? not much.
We are just cool like that.

And my favorite shot of the trip.

Thanks for the fun week Morgan's! See you at next year's reunion!

Accident Prone Child

This sweet little child is accident prone. I did not realize when she hurt her head on New Years that we were ringing in a year of injuries! Fortunately, nothing has been too serious (knocking on wood.)

After our camping trip, Afton burned her fingers on an iron that I had literally just plugged in. I walked away for 10 seconds to grab a shirt and she put down her book and somehow got the iron on top of her fingers. :(

After a trip to the urgent care and a canceled date night her poor hand looked like this:

She sucks on her two middle fingers of this hand, so we had to wrap it up all crazy to keep the burns from getting infected in her mouth.

Nasty little second degree blisters. Fortunately, the burns were not serious enough to require anything beyond topical creams and bandaging, and she has full movement of her fingers.

After a follow up with her pediatrician we got some better bandaging for her little fingers. She got a lot of compliments on her cool glove :)

And this is when the burns were almost completely healed. They look even better now!

The ONE silver lining from this accident is that Afton no longer sucks on her fingers! She sucks on a pacifier instead... but pacifiers are much easier to take away than fingers are :)
