July & August

Where has the summer gone?! We have had a pretty fun summer, despite my morning sickness. A good chunk of my July was spent with me feeling gross (but happy about baby), watching movies, with a kitty on my lap. I feel lucky that I didn't have to work or be in school during that time. No worries, I wasn't a couch potato the whole month.

One fun weekend, we met up with Taylor and Stasi in Austin, TX. We ate at some yummy restaurants, saw the state capitol, went to the Lyndon B. Johnson library AND tubed down the San Marcos river! Then they stayed with us for a couple nights before they moved back to Vegas.
The capitol building was beautiful. If you are in Austin, go check it out. Unfortunately, we failed to get a picture with Taylor and Stasi, but we had a great time with them!

The next day we suddenly decided to go pick up this little guy.

Later that month, on the 26th Brad turned 26! Woohoo! So to celebrate I made him a yummy chocolate chocolate cake and we did the traditional Morris Birthday Picture Series. What is the Morris Birthday Picture Series you ask? Let me show you:
Yes, growing up I always got to take a bite out of my cake, and I loved it! So Brad and I have carried that tradition into our family.

August was the month of dread. Brad had to travel for 3 weeks for work - no fun. We knew coming out here he would travel a little bit, so we were both ok with it, but it's never fun being away from your sweetie.

Fortunately for me, my dear mother came out to play with me the second week! We had tons of fun shopping, watching movies, swimming at Seaworld, and  more! We even exercised a little bit too!
Once again, I failed to take pictures, so this will have to do!
Love you Mom!!

We also celebrated our anniversary this month! 8-16-08 we were married in the St. George temple. That's 3 years people!
We've had a pretty eventful 3 years of marriage and we look forward to many many more.

So that's where our last months of summer have gone, and we are excited for a jam packed Fall!

The New Addition

No, this is not another baby post, this post is all about our other addition to the family, NEMO.
Yes, we own a cat. I always said I would NEVER own a cat. EVER. and now we do. And I love him. So to avoid looking like a crazy obsessive cat lady, I am getting all the kitty pictures done and over with in this post. So here you go.

Nemo loves to be around his people. He follows us all over the house and loves to snuggle. Here are some of his favorite cuddle spots:

In true kitty fashion, Nemo loves to play and pounce and all that good stuff. Which we get a big kick out of. If you REALLY want to see videos of him, check my google plus sometime.... or click here

So that's our curious kitty. Someday we will add another pet , but for now we are enjoying our little kitty.

On Prayer

I don't really blog much about stuff other than updates in our lives, but I stumbled upon this quote today while studying my scriptures and had to share it. It is about prayer.

“. . . go where you can be alone, go where you can think, go where you can kneel, go where you can speak out loud to him. The bedroom, the bathroom, or the closet will do. Now, picture him in your mind’s eye. Think to whom you are speaking, control your thoughts—don’t let them wander, address him as your Father and your friend. Now tell him things you really feel to tell him—not trite phrases that have little meaning, but have a sincere, heartfelt conversation with him. Confide in him, ask him for forgiveness, plead with him, enjoy him, thank him, express your love to him, and then listen for his answers. Listening is an essential part of praying. Answers from the Lord come quietly—ever so quietly. In fact, few hear his answers audibly with their ears. We must be listening so carefully or we will never recognize them. Most answers from the Lord are felt in our heart as a warm comfortable expression, or they may come as thoughts to our mind. They come to those who are prepared and who are patient.” ( H. Burke Peterson, “Adversity and Prayer,” Ensign, Jan. 1974, p. 19

It doesn't matter what your religion is, or what your situation in life is, you can always turn to God in prayer, and he will listen. Even if you have never prayed before, he will listen. Answers might not come right away, and they might be different from what you wanted, but answers will come because God loves you.

Raging Reviews

I know, I stink at blogging regularly, but before I do more updates I wanted to share this AWESOME video clip. It is literally life changing.

Yes it's true, we are having a baby and couldn't be more excited! Life changing video right?

And while I have your attention, I will just get a few FAQ's over and done with.

The due date is around February 6th.

I am almost 15 weeks along.

I have no inclination as to whether it's a boy or girl, but Brad always refers to baby as a boy... he doesn't like calling baby an "it."

Morning sickness was pretty bad for about a month, but then I figured out how to curb it for myself. It is starting to subside but still likes to creep up on me every now and again. Being sick really hasn't bothered me too much, I just take it as a good sign that the baby is still growing. What bothered me more was that very few foods actually sounded edible to me, and I love my food. So that was sad.

I have a little bump, Brad refers to it as my "pudge." I am not sure if it is really a baby bump or more of a two month diet of potatoes and pbj with little to no exercise bump.

We did take a picture yesterday to start of the pregnancy pics
Some of you are probably thinking... what bump? But I promise that my stomach was flat a few months ago! (and I was very proud of that)

Stay tuned for more Morgan Family updates!
