Due to Popular Demand.....

Yes, I am posting some pictures of our house because I have been bombarded with requests!

Now I would just like to warn you that beyond this point there is a whole lot of work in progress. So please don't judge me by my move in mess. In fact, let's just consider all of these the "before" pictures.
what you see from the front door.

What you will use if you choose to visit us.

If you choose to visit us you also have the choice of two bedrooms in which to place the air mattress in!
And if you give me enough notice, I may try to organize all of this stuff before you come to stay.
Our family room. I am waiting to decorate and such until we get some new couches... which might take a week or two.
The huge kitchen. Probably my favorite part of the whole house.
Will ya look at all that cupboard space? I can't even fill them all!

The linen closet. AKA monster spider's hideout AND the only part of the house that is completely set up.

And to the right of the linen closet, behold the pantry/laundry room.

Our backyard... those bushes need to be tamed.
AND the master bedroom... it's a lot bigger than it looks... but the bed is really the only thing in there at the moment...
The master bath. Minus the throne room. No need to take a picture of that.

So. As you can see: SO MUCH POTENTIAL CUTE HOUSE-NESS, but not there yet.

SOOOO Tempting

I am ordering new checks for us right now... because we are out of them... and we are at a new and permanent address. ANYWHO, I have been browsing through check options and found these:

The Duke! On checks! I feel every Texan should own these. Just because it's John Wayne.

Speaking of John Wayne, I recently read a biography about him. Random I know. But it was a very interesting read.

The Tale of the Monster Spider

So earlier this week while Brad was out of town and I was left home alone to unpack, I was taken off-guard by this beastly beast

I am getting the heeby-jeebys just looking at this picture. askdfja;sldfkja
Now I would just like to say that I can handle my fair share of creepy crawlers. I am not usually one to freak out and scream and run for the hills, but this was a little too much for me. I was in my room for 5 minutes trying to decide how to handle this situation. After that 5 minutes I emerged from the room with an empty trash can to cover the beast and a heavy book to weigh it down... but just then this creeper slipped  into our little linen closet and I could not see him..... ANYWHERE.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point I called Brad and the next hour was spent with Brad giving me a pep talk so that I would stop crying and have the courage to take care of this spider on my own. (Yes I was near tears, home alone, at night, in a new house, with a big spider.) At one point he said "tonight is the night you become a woman. Women take care of spiders on their own." And of course I informed him that women marry husbands to take care of spiders for them. Anywho, during this discussion I got innovative and took lots of pictures like this
because there was no way I was going into that closet with that monster spider! And of course, the spider was not along the door, and then I noticed the hats on the floor. So I got out my broom (again, to keep plenty of distance between me and the spider) and yes, it was under my BYU hat. So I quickly trapped the spider under a trash can until Brad informed me that the spider might be able to squeeze out from under it.... which led me to savagely beat the poor thing with my broom until it was dead.
So an hour later.... I reigned victorious.... sort of. I didn't sleep well that night for fear of being attacked by other ginormous arachnids. And I still feel a little guilty for the inhumane way in which I killed the spider. And yes, I realize this is a long, ridiculous post about me freaking out over a spider.... but this is my blog. So deal.

and Such

Soooo also while in Vegas I of course got to spend some quality time with the fam.... well at least my parents and Jacobus (Jake-a-bus, as in Jacobus Gluteus Maximus, my new favorite name for him that he LOVES). I got in my shopping with Mom time, DQ run with Jake time, and my random errand with Dad time. And this trip I even got some Jabbawockeez time.

So we went and saw their show. It was fun, but I wouldn't go see it again. The music was SOOOO LOUD it made me feel a little sick towards the end. But man can those boys dance!

Vegas Weddings and Such

So several weeks back I left poor Bradley and flew home to Vegas to see one of my bestest friends get married. Keri and I literally have been friends since before I can remember, so it was pretty great to be there for one of the most important days of her life. I don't really feel like I am that great with words, so I will let the pictures do the talking.
Loved this dress! It was the perfect dress for Keri.

Say hello to the Carters, my second family.
Why don't I ever take a great pic? I was feeling too tall in my heels... at least the other two look great!
LF's for life... haha.... sorry, inside joke.
Back together for the first time in.....4 years?! Too long really, so many great memories! We missed you Becca!
Our Lovely Laurel Leaders! We had some epic laurel trips together.
Keri's wedding was simple and elegant. I loved it. I especially loved reuniting with wonderful friends whom I have missed dearly. Thanks for getting married Keri, so we could all get together again!
