A Bag of Trash

So, Jessica has started leaving bags of trash on our porch for me to take to the dumpster... I love this new tradition because it gives me more time to "get around to it" than previously, when she would leave the bags of trash in our kitchen for immediate disposal.

Anyway, this post is not about our remarkable refuse removal remedies, but rather the story it led to. Early yesterday morning, around 9am (ok so that's not that early), we heard little footsteps running up our stairs to the front door and the voice of some child yelling back at the car from which he had just sprung, "This bag is really full!"

At first I was a bit puzzled, and then it hit me... The scouts were collecting bags of canned food for their food drive. We had completely spaced it. So I scrambled to grab a couple of cans of food and raced to the door. By the time I frantically sprung open the door, the kid was gone, the car was gone, and our trash was gone...

I closed the door shocked by all that had just transpired, and then I fell to the floor laughing... I hope they realized the bag did not contain canned food before they turned it in to the food bank. To whoever it is that made the discovery, please know that we're sorry!!! And thanks for saving me a trip to the dumpster! :)

TIPPING BUCKET

So Brad entered an i-phone app contest with a couple of friends recently. Originally they were going to make this silly horoscope app because people would most likely check that everyday and you win by having people download and use the app frequently. BUT THEN they got an email from tippingbucket.org and decided to make an app for them instead.

Tipping Bucket is a non-profit organization that tries to raise money for various causes. What they do is select a cause. See how much money the cause needs, and then set a time limit for the money to be raised (couple of weeks or so). All you do is donate a dollar (or more if desired) with your credit card. If by the end of the set time they have raised the money, then everyone's account is charged a dollar. If not, then your account is not charged and they start on a new cause. Cool Right?! Change the world or your money back :).

So go download the app HERE then check it everyday and spread the word and MOST importantly DONATE.

Blog Neglect

Yes. I am guilty of blog neglect. And now there are so many missed blogging opportunities! oh well. Instead of doing a bajillion posts to catch up the few of you who actually read this blog, this long post will have to do.

CHRISTMAS
Christmas was spent in Boring, OR with Brad's family. We had a wonderful couple of weeks playing games, caroling, and spending time with family!

 VEGAS!!
In February we went down to Vegas because I was getting a little homesick. We had a great time taking a break from school.  We took Jake to see the fountains and explored city center, hung out with the family, and played with the new PUPPY!!!

BAPTISM
In February we also made a weekend trip up to Boise, ID area to see Melissa (our cousin) get baptized! As you can see Brad's parents and other family came down to take part in the wonderful event. It was a short but spiritually uplifting weekend!

BASKETBALL DAY
(10 points and some cookies to the person who finds Waldo)
On February 27th we had a basketball day. First we went to the BYU vs New Mexico game. That was the most intense basketball game I have ever attended! It was a great game until the last 5 minutes when BYU lost. We then made a trek up to Salt Lake to watch the Rockets vs. the Jazz. The Rockets lost BUT they still played really well.

As you can see, we have had a very packed semester! On top of all of this we have had very busy classes this semester. However, we are still enjoying ourselves. I have been officially accepted to do Spring Summer student teaching, so I will be able to graduate before we move to Texas in August!!
