New Fishin Pics

A couple photos came in the mail today from home. So I'm posting them:

I caught the big one at Stanley Lake last summer.

This is from a fishing trip to Rock Creek Reservoir last year.

I'm Goin' To Vegas!!

So this post is more like a journal entry (sort of) but I wanted to use this as an opportunity to say thanks to everyone who made my birthday marvelous!

I'm 21! woohoo! No worries, despite it being finals week I was still able to have a great birthday! To start the day off I went and got my haircut. Mostly a trim and I had the girl give me bangs. I love them. If you need anyone to cut your hair, get her, she is awesome.

The rest of the day went like this: 1) Lunch with Brad on campus/Allison stopping by to give me a present (super awesome BYU earrings - Thanks Allison!) 2) Frozen Yogurt with Becky and Kara (my super smart biology friends) 3) Tucanos with Brad 4) Stopping at the apartment to open presents/finding goodies on the doorstep from the Willliams 5) My wonderful husband going to Bride Wars with me.

I also got phone calls from family and friends. Needless to say, I had a marvalous 21st b-day. And now I am going to vegas!..... to visit my family :)

PRESENTS!!
My Lovely Cake made by Brad :)

The Morris' traditional cake bite!

Disney music and Disney earrings!

Brad had N.Sharp get me a huge box of fruit snacks (I LOVE fruitsnacks)

Rosetta Stone!!! This is my project for the Summer, I am going to learn Spanish! I have already started the lessons and I LOVE it!

Easter Weekend!

For Easter we went up to Brad's grandparents in Fruit Heights for a relaxing weekend before finals struck. We brought up a dozen boiled eggs to color, little did we know that grandma's fridge stopped working so she boiled 3 dozen eggs! Well we stayed up with Aunt Kayluana until 11 coloring 4 dozen lovely eggs! It was lots of fun!

Here they are! most are one color but we used crayons on others to write secret messages. For example, Bradley made an easter pig egg... unfortunately I do not have a picture of it.

Here are two of my best eggs... aren't they pretty?

And here are Brad's eggs! I think the one on the left is the easter pig egg. And the right has spiders all over it.

and here is our family Easter picture. Happy Easter!

My Lovely Wife Is Quite the Actress

So Jessica kindly invited me (dragged/forced/made me) watch her elementary education class play thing in the BYU's Museum of Art. It was kind of funny- actually it was really funny because it was geared towards little kids and so they made the play as if they were kids acting in it and performing it for other little kids. Their audience was actually college students and a few grandparents.

As you can see, she made a cute Harry Potter.

Because of her amazing talent for drama, she was also a dancing skeleton AND part of a human-train.

I love you, Jessica :D - I just couldn't resist sharing your talent with the world!

Game 1: Rockets Rout Blazers

Final Score: 108-81 (Rockets win by 27)

Yao Ming was able to rest for the second half of the game after scoring 24 points in the first half. He made all 9 of his shots from the field, all 6 free throws, and grabbed 9 rebounds in just 24 minutes of play. A few photos from the game:

Rockets take on the Blazers in Round 1

Yao Ming Block
Houston Rockets (5) will battle the Portland Trailblazers (4) in the first round of the NBA Playoffs this month. Unfortunately, Portland has home court advantage. This will make the series a much tougher and even match-up between these teams. This also should make for interesting family discussion (or perhaps a 2-week period of silence) as I am a huge Rockets fan and my father a hardcore Blazer.

I think that if Houston can take advantage of Yao Ming, who is virtually unstoppable with the ball in the paint, they will be able to control their own destiny in the series. If they rely on the three-ball and can't get the rock to Yao, then Portland will have the edge. Every possession will matter and each mistake will hurt. I believe that Houston's superior coaching will help (Rick Adelman). Hopefully both sides can stay healthy. Yao missed a game last week with a sore foot, but luckily the bone was bruised and not broken.

The schedule for the series is listed below:

Twitter

Soooooo I joined twitter. My whole family was talking about it on the good old message board. And then I saw that my dear friend Becky Hayes was on it. AND Brad kept looking at the different apps and desktop versions. So I figured... why not?

My thoughts so far... kind of cool. Maybe I will enjoy it more as I learn more about it. I realized that a few of my friends were already on it. So I am following them. Some guy named Johnny Lunchbox started following me on Sunday... kind of weird. Looked at his "updates" and didn't want him to follow me, so I blocked him.

I will let you know how things go, so far... Twitter is kind of a cool thing.

Eureka!

So the last few attempts I have made at chocolate chip cookies have been a little bit of a failure, because they looked like this:Fortunately they still tasted yummy, but I can't go deliver emaciated cookies to my neighbors! So... this last time I was determined to figure out why my cookies didn't look like nice plump cookies. i had tried different recipes, different cooking times, and this last time I realized what was wrong! I needed more flour!!! So I tried putting more flour in and look:

Nice, plump, cookies!! My mom always told me to not put all the flour in at once because you don't always need all the flour.... well turns out I was not putting in enough flour in! As you can tell, I am really excited that I can make normal cookies now! yipee!

Marriot School March Madness Tournament

Brad participated in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament with two of his good Friends recently. Their one goal was to win one game... and they did! They won their first game of the tournament and then went straight to the second game.... which they lost. But that's ok... I think they were just glad to win their first game. :)

From left to right is Brad, Kevin, and Russ.
They are all wearing their ASM shirts, and called themselves the ASM Ballerz. The ref in their first game kept calling them the "asems".... but it sounded like the Handsomes... which I found pretty funny :)
