Rockets 86 Jazz 99

So this last Tuesday Brad and I went to the Rockets vs. Jazz game. Yes, the Rockets lost... but we still had a great time

I caught Brad being really excited for the game slash excited to wear his rockets Jersey :)

We went to the Gateway before the game and got some dessert. Brad loves soft serve ice cream.

The ROCKETS. Brad's favorite team.

This was the best picture I was able to get of Brad and I at the game... he was not cooperating!

Singers Concert

We went to the BYU Singers Concert tonight, and it was a lot of fun. Kevin and Aubrey Brinkerhoff are both in the choir. Although we were in the very last row, we were still able to spot them and watch them sing. I took a high resolution photo with my fancy, expensive camera phone for your viewing pleasure.

February 16th and On

So its time for an update right?

Well as of February 16th Brad and I have been married six months! Woohoo! Really its been seven months now.... I felt kind of silly being excited about six months I mean it doesn't really compare to my parent's 27 years.... but it's a start! Anywho I celebrated by going to the shade sale and getting $5 shirts and 9 AM... don't worry, it was worth it. When I came back Brad had all of these signs up all over the apartment:

Yes, most of them are still up. There was even on on the milk carton :)

The last weekend of February Brad and I went down to Vegas for my Mom's Birthday slash I had to go to the orthodontist. Minus the whole orthodontist bit, it was really fun! We went to this town called St. Thomas for my Mom's birthday. Well actually it is the remains of a town that was buried by Lake Mead and now since the water level has gone down so much you can walk around the place. It was pretty neat.

This is my great great grandpa's ice cream parlor. It is the tallest standing building left, most the other places are just foundations.

There was glass and rusty things all over.... my Mom might have possibly snuck some stuff out illegaly, but hey it's her family... I don't blame her.

We also braved through the pokey brush to find my great grandma Afton's foundation. We almost gave up... but then we found it! Hooray! This actually isn't a picture of that foundation... I didn't have a picture of that one. My Mom might have possibly illegally taken some rocks from the foundation for her garden... once again I don't blame her.

Then it comes to March! Which has seriously flown by. I cannot believe that March is almost over. Which means school is almost over. Which means that it is almost my birthday and that I will be 21 (weird). Which means that it's almost summer! YAY!

What's Our Focus?

I just wanted to share a verse that I read 5 minutes ago and that hit me really hard:
"And verily I say unto thee that thou shalt lay aside the things of this world, and seek for the things of a better."
D&C 25:10

Even though this was directed to Emma, I think it applies to all of us (if you don't believe me read verse 16). I've had a super busy week with hardly a second to breathe, so when I read this verse it made me ponder about my life for a minute. School is important; Work is important; ASM (the Association for Systems Management) is important. But they are all things of this world. How easy it is to set our focus and main attention on the things of this world when the things of a better are what will bring us happiness and eternal joy.

Life is busy for all of us- I know I'm not the only one. Sometimes all of these good things that keep us busy in our lives are also distracting us from those that really matter. Let us keep our focus on the things of a better world as we go about our busy lives!
