Las Vegas Snow

So i am taking a break from studying to announce that there is snow in Vegas. Not mush... but snow. My mom has called me 3 times today and texted me. Amber sent me some pictures, Zach spoke with me on g-chat, and my father called to tell me it is snowing so much that it is interfering with his driving (i am glad he has a hand free phone in his car). So its pretty much official. There is a lot of snow in Vegas and everyone and their dog has called to tell me about it. I just hope it sticks around until friday and saturday so i can play in it!!!

Pics from Last night!

Since Jessica didn't include any pics, here's a couple:

Crazy Gingerbread Castle

This tree was made entirely of glass!

I was a host, but as Jessica said, she was a "hostess"

Fire Alarm and Festival of Trees

So remember the other day when I mentioned the beeping noise? Well it was a fire alarm. The people who live above us left a pot on their stove top... and the stove top was on High heat. The alarm was going off a good hour before the apartment owner was able to get here with a key.... there was smoke everywhere. I feel so bad for them, their apartment must reek. BUT I am really glad that the apartment didn't catch on fire... .that would really stink.

Among other news we spent an enjoyable Friday evening at a little Christmas shindig that was very enjoyable. Brad and I had a GREAT time and got lots of yummy treats. Then we spent another enjoyable evening at the Festival of Trees. We were hosts/hostesses for the event. which means we walked around a row of trees for 3 hours to tell people about the trees and prevent them from stealing any thing. It doesn't sound that great, but it was really fun. All the trees are decorated and donated to the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake, many are donated by families who have had to go the to hospital or who have had family pass away. It was an evening very well spent.

October/November Happenings

Ok, so it has been a CRAZY month and I have some catching up to do! First let me say that my neighbors alarm is going off and I really hope it is not a fire alarm.

Secondly, Disneyland... was a blast even though we were trying to recover from being sick. I love Disneyland, and Brad hasn't been since he was like.... 8 so it was really fun to show him around. So Sunday night before we left Brad and I both came down with the flu so we stayed home all week i went to 3 classes and work 1 day, and brad went to 1 class, and then we went to Disneyland!! Thursday the park wasn't really crowded, lines were 20 minutes max. Then Friday we ran into the dream team and got fast passes for every big attraction at both parks!! It was great. As souvenirs we got matching PJs and a christmas ornament. (the pj's are mens so they are a little big on me, but oh so comfy!) AANNDD here are some disney pics!

The freaky witch from Snow White, she was scary!

Space Mountain! This was one of Brad's favorites.

So the rest of the pics are on my mom's camera... so i will post more later.

Thirdly, Thanksgiving was a ton of fun. We went to Fruit Heights and stayed with Brad's grandparents. AND his family was able to come down, which was really fun. It was a relaxing week, we played games, watched movies, ate food, watched movies, wrote thank you notes, and watched movies. I think i watched 6-7 movies while i was there including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Australia... all of which were really good. Oh and my Thank you notes are almost done... i only have 10 more!!! yay!

Fourthly, Brad got an offer from E&Y in San Antonio!!!! so we are going to TX this summer for two months, Austin is only an hour away, so I can go to the place of my birth. Exciting! We are already planning our road trip down and the sites we will stop at.

Fifthly I discovered my hidden talent is locking myself out of my apartment. I did it twice in one week. Rediculous.

Sixthly, this is the last update... CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!! I am so excited! We set up a fake prelit 3 ft tree and put our presents from Brad's family under it. We also made some home-made ornaments to decorate the tree with. My Mom sent up some other fun decorations that she no longer uses, so our apartment is very cheery! And of course... pictures!

Here we are getting ready to paint our light bulbs!
Some Background:My mom always makes ornaments every year, and I really liked that tradition so I decided to carry that into my own family!

The finished products, painted light bulbs and Yarn candy canes wrapped around pipe cleaner.

Here is a close up of the bulb ornaments, aren't they cute?

Here it is!!! our cute little tree!

So that's life right now! We are going back to my place for Christmas... I am SOOO excited!!!
